LAINES PAYSANNES WOOL MADE CARPETS
The Laines Paysannes rug is woven exclusively in local wool from the Pyrenees from peasant agriculture that respects people and nature. The Manech Tête Noire and the Basco-Béarnaise offer us a rustic but also solid wool. These long, lustrous fibers are ideal for weaving rugs that are built to last.
Each strand of wool passes through our hands to be sorted by us. We forge ties of trust and proximity with small local processing units for the manufacture of our raw material: wool yarn.
All of the manufacturing steps are carried out within a radius of 30 km around the raw material.
To the rhythm of the hand and the rhythm of the seasons , our production is reasoned to give life to everyday objects: simple and elegant rugs.
Manual weaving is carried out in our workshop in Ariège in the town of Saverdun on traditional “arm” looms. A slow and regular gesture by which traditional know-how is maintained .
Premium rugs where everyone involved in making the rug is committed to quality.
Impeccable quality of our raw materials : wool from animals raised in the open air on family farms on a human scale.
Ecological and gentle processing methods that preserve the natural qualities of the fibres.
A quality of manufacture: a traditional weaving carried out by hand with regularity and requirement .
Wool is an ancestral material that has been used for decades. The technique of weaving Laines Paysannes rugs is also very old. And yet we offer contemporary rugs. Contemporary in the design offered within the InterreLIGNES collection. Contemporary the know-how around the creation of a rug, reinvests traditional materials and methods to design simple and refined timeless objects not borrowed from an era.
The Laines Paysannes rug is a unique piece . Wool brings a warm atmosphere, a softness. The carpet becomes space, a space where we find ourselves, where we meet and where time stretches differently .
We affirm our desire that each link in the wool industry can make a living from its activity and that its work be valued.
We have chosen to value the purchase price of the wool from partner breeders in order to recognize their essential role in the quality of the wool.
By properly remunerating processing players, we also contribute to the sustainability and longevity of the sector.
Finally, having our own clothing workshop allows us to optimize costs and thus offer fair prices.
